In 1587 Mary Queen of Scots was executed. Elizabeth the 1st held off on signing her death warrant as she feared it set a worrying precedent that it was acceptable to execute a monarch. A topic close to home for Elizabeth given the nature of her mother's demise. Elizabeth was right to be concerned as Queen Mary's son, King James 6th of Scotland became King James 1st of England, giving us the James 1st bible. His son suffered the same fate as his Grandmother as Charles the 1st was executed ushering in Britain's brief fling with being a republic.
Today's dress is a beautiful green plaid, it isn't quite a tartan but it has that feel to it. The dress is gorgeous it is made from taffeta and has a beautifully fitted sweetheart neckline that has been edged with box pleating. The circle skirt makes this feel wonderfully feminine but fun. It isn't a halterneck but the straps are adjustable so it scores well for that.
The best thing about this dress is it comes with a matching bolero in black that has a green paid peter pan collar and a single button. Marv files this as a "Super Cute Pretty Monkey" dress, it is one we both like which probably explains the numbers of photos.
