A guide to style and good tailoring

Hi welcome to my own unique perspective on what constitutes style and individualism. The vast majority of the photos are taken using a mobile phone camera and I have no make up on.......

I'm in my late 30's and I'm also a widow which probably explains why I look so god damn hot in black, well that and being an ivory skinned pale red head! It also documents my wardrobe, so many people seem fascinated by my clothes and compliment me for how I look wearing them.

It is one woman's campaign against Jeans, Tracksuits and Ugg Boots!

More importantly it's about altering your view on life and trying to do the right thing even though it isn't always the easiest.

This blog is a story in taking pride in yourself and not letting yourself go, or settling for second best because you know what girls? No one really is better than someone if they don't treat you like a Queen................

Carmen, the opera a dress and lots of amusement

I had an opera moment last night, and indulged in some Maria Callas she was singing Carmen. I love that this massive voice comes out of such a small person, it reminds us all that appearance can be deceptive. Carmen was for it's time highly controversial especially given the main characters death on stage. She joined the other archetypal femme fatales - Salome, who danced the seven veils, Cleopatra who seduced Caesar and of course the ultimate femme fatale the black widow.

Hmmm widowed bellydancer ...........LOL Fortunately the closest I get is when I dress up as it were, so it is all in the costume not the personality. So given that I have the black widow and Salome covered I thought I might as well add Carmen to the mix, which amuses me.

Carmen is a beautiful dress by Stop Staring! People say red heads shouldn't wear red but it depends on the shade. This is a really nice deep rich red. I adore the neckline, the rouching on the sleeves and around the bust. The little pull at the cleavage gives it a bow effect which I like.  The rouching down the sides of your hips give a little bit of extra stretch and looks really pretty. The black contrast kick pleats with button accents and the belt just make this a lovely dress, feminine dress.
